Meet the Pastoral Care Team

Dr Bagworth-Mann - Deputy Head Pastoral

Dr Bagworth-Mann began her career at the Historical Manuscripts Commission, after completing her PhD. She also worked at the National Archives before joining North London Collegiate School in 2006. During her time at North London she has held many positions including, teacher of History, Communications Officer, Head of House, Assistant Head of Upper School, Head of Middle School, before becoming Deputy Head Pastoral in January 2018. Dr Bagworth-Mann believes strongly in the importance of pastoral care which is focussed on individual support and where every student is well known and cared for.

Mr Tosh - Head of Middle School

Inspired by his own Drama teacher when he was at school, Mr Tosh knew that a career as a teacher was on the cards from the age of 14. Initially studying Acting at ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts), he later completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education at The University of Buckingham. Originally working with the Drama Department at Reed’s School in Cobham, Mr Tosh joined NLCS in 2018. Before he was appointed Head of Middle School, he has acted as a tutor in both the Middle and Upper Schools. He was also Upper School PSHE Co-Ordinator, Head of Year 11 and Acting Director of Drama. Mr Tosh believes that it is the duty of all staff to ensure that every student feels supported so that they can achieve their full potential.

In his spare time, Mr Tosh can often be found at the theatre, reading or playing strategy and simulation games.

Ms Wells - Head of Upper School

Mrs Wells is in her fourth year at North London and is a passionate advocate of providing supportive and nurturing pastoral care. Prior to joining North London Mrs Wells was at Highgate School holding pastoral middle leadership roles.

Mrs Wells studied Economics at York and Cambridge University and worked for HM Treasury as an Economist prior to starting her teaching career. She represented her university at Netball and her college for Hockey. Outside of school she is a complete foodie and loves to cook.

Miss Gibbs - Head of Sixth Form

Miss Gibbs studied Drama and Dance at Surrey University, something she was probably destined to do after spending her primary school years writing plays and dancing. After her first year of teaching at Mill Hill County High School she became Head of Drama and went on to enjoy the roles of Head of Year 8 through to 11. At the John Lyon School she held the positions of Director of Drama and Head of Sixth Form. She joined NLCS in 2010 as Director of Drama and is passionate about providing a supportive, enriching and rewarding environment for all students. 

In her spare time you can usually find her in a gym, theatre or on a racecourse.
